Five Places to Visit in Florida Besides Orlando

When most people think about vacation spots in Florida, Orlando and the popular Disney World generally come to mind.  Orlando is one of the most popular places in the world.  However, Florida has more to offer than just the Magic Kingdom.  There are several places where tourist can have a great time and there are five places besides Orlando that visitors should consider.

Miami

Miami is number one on the list and it is always a hot spot.  In addition to beautiful beaches, the night life is unbelievable.  Miami is home to many celebrities as well as professional athletes so something is always going on.  South Beach and other areas around the city provide visitors with great restaurants and plenty of shopping.  Check into an ocean front hotel, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Florida Keys

The Florida Keys exactly describes what a vacation should be like.  Guests get a daily dosage of the beautiful tropics and Caribbean flair without ever leaving the U.S.  From swaying palm trees to warm breezes guests will immediately be taken in by the beauty of the keys.  For water enthusiast the Keys is the place to go.  Guests can enjoy activities such as snorkeling and diving through the Keys.  Key West also has many venues for those looking to party but also has a lot to offer for those patrons looking for a quiet atmosphere.

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is another Florida hot spot.  Daytona is unique because not only can visitors visit the beach but they can actually drive on it.  Imagine feeling the ocean breeze and watching the beautiful waves as you drive down the beach line.  For racing fans the Daytona International Speedway is a great place to watch you favorite race car drivers compete.  Various other events are held in Daytona throughout the year.  Bike week and Biketoberfest pull in crowds of bikers and spectators each year and is always a treat.

Orlando

The Florida Panhandle

The Florida Panhandle is home to the beautiful Destin, Florida.  It is a very popular vacation spot due to its miles of beautiful beaches.  Beautiful hotels and resorts make it a favorite for many vacation goers.  In addition there are family amusement parks where the entire family can go and enjoy go-carts, miniature golf and of course great rides.  Destin is located on the Gulf of Mexico so it is also a very popular deep fishing spot.  Fishermen come from all over just to fish these waters.

Cape Canaveral

Cape Canaveral is a unique Florida destination.  Where else can you sit on the beach and see a space shuttle.  Cape Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center.  Visitors can enjoy a tour and see a part of history or relax on the beautiful beaches.  There is plenty of nightlife, shopping and great food to enjoy also.  Stay a few days and enjoy a cruise on one of the many cruise ships that leave from the area.

Though Orlando is a great destination there is more to Florida than meets the eye.  This list only included five of the many beautiful and fun filled destinations in Florida.
